| Q | What is the difference between a lock up and a complete package? |
| A | The differences are that the complete package includes insulation for walls and ceilings, drywall, interior doors and bi-folds, door and window casings,baseboards. |
| Q | What kind of foundation do I use? |
| A | Depending on the plan, you can use slab on grade, traditional frost wall, insulated concrete forms, pillar or piling type foundations. Our team can help suggest a foundation type that suits the specific plan. Note: Not all foundation types are acceptable in all regions, please refer to your local building authority for more information. |
| Q | Can I make changes to the Plan? |
| A | Yes, we can modify our plans to suit your exact needs and requirements. Once a preliminary drawing is completed, we include 2 extra revisions to your blueprint free of charge. Any additional revisions to the blueprint will be processed at a non refundable fee of $65 per hour. |
| Q | How is my package delivered? |
| A | Home packages are most often delivered on 53’ drop deck (low bed) style trailers to maximize volume and keep freight costs low. Please inform your sales agent if alternate equipment may be necessary due to the constraints of your building site. |
| Q | Does my package get delivered all at once? |
| A | Depending on the size the home, it will take 1 - 3 loads. |
| Q | How long will it take for my package to arrive? |
| A | From date of order, 6 weeks minimum, and possible longer June through October. Always check with your sales representative for current production lead time. |
| Q | How long will it take to build my package? |
| A | Depending on the size and complexity of your package and the skill of your crew you should be able to erect our package materials to the lock up stage within 1 - 2 weeks. |
| Q | Are shipping costs included? |
| A | Typically yes, the package quote will specify whether shipping charges are included or not. |
| Q | Do I need a building permit? |
| A | Absolutely. We build to the National Building Code of Canada and to the International Building Code Standards. Check with your local building authority, before beginning any new construction, for standards over and above these codes |
| Q | How do I unload my package? |
| A | The customer is responsible for sufficient crew (4-6 strong, able bodied people) and machinery (crane, forklift, large hiab) to off-load the package. |
| Q | Do you have crews to help with assembly? |
| A | In areas serviced by our Dealers, it may be possible to have a crew arranged for assembly of your package, as an independent contract. |
| Q | Are pre-fabs different than modular homes? |
| A | Yes....Yes....Yes! Once a prefabricated package is assembled, it is no different than a site framed constructed home or cottage. Our packages are NOT mobile homes! |
